The Backflow Preventer (PVB) is a device that allows water to go in one direction only, so the contaminant warter cant go backwards in the opposite direction.
Most backflow preventers are used to keep unsafe/ contaminant water from reversing flow and entering the clean water supply which goes to our houses.
Does all sprinkler system need a PVB ? YES
If someone tells you the differ you can be 100% sure that person does not know anything about safety and does not care about your family safety.
There are many kinds of Backflow Preventer and a licensed irrigator will know which one is suitable for your system and up to code.
Many Backflows will break during a hard freeze most and relatively cheap to fix at simply sprinkler we charge from $110 up to $240 on residential.

Thank goodness for the rain. Houston Texas has been going through a drought for a little bit over a year. Most Houston areas are under mandatory water conservation. Our sprinkler system can only be used once or twice in a week. Lately it has been raining which helps our lakes and reservoirs fill with water . Hopefully we will continue to see more rain in order to have a greener summer. Don't forget to check your sprinkler system every two weeks to make sure it's working fine.

How many times should i cut the grass in Houston and surrounding areas. It's January lawns grow slow & roots grow deeper . Depending on your lawn type and how many times you turn your sprinkler system on, Simply Sprinkler repair would recommend cutting your lawn 3 times a month. Leave the cut grass on your lawn for nutrition. As for your Houston sprinkler systems it should be ran atleast twice a week. It's good for your foundation, lawn and your sprinkler system. Never completely turn of your Sprinkler system that will result in stuck sprinkler valves and expensive sprinkler repairs. www.simplysprinkler.com
